Christmas Day

Christmas morning is such a blast when you're on the Santa side of things.

Orelia is at a great age where she can really enjoy and get excited about new toys,

But she also isn't greedy and we like to think we can still get away with spoiling her.

Halfway through the morning she was so thrilled with her haul that when she would zoom past us and we yelled "Orelia do you want to open more presents?" she would shake her head "no" and keep on going.

Santa brought her a lavender-colored kitchen with all kinds of plates, pots, and utensils.  She was in heaven.

After presents, a breakfast casserole, and a nap, we decided to make some sugar cookies as a family.

Toddler sugar cookies are pretty heavy on the sugar, as it turns out.

Orelia had a blast dumping sugar all over the cookies and parchment paper.  She really was happy to just dump the sugar wherever we would let her.

I'm so happy that she can finally join in on some kitchen projects.  Things are messier and more complicated with a toddler in the kitchen, but that's half the fun.

This photo pretty much sums it up.
