Orelia at Two Months

Somehow, someway, our girl is already two months old.

She gets more and more fun all the time and we love watching her blossom into our even more wonderful girl.

Her hand and arm movements are really coming along.  This week she started to really reach and grab at objects - especially enticing ones like her elephant rattle and orange monkey.

She, of course, loves to watch her hands whenever she can.  They are her favorite "toy" of all.

Happily for us, Orelia loves to smile, and does it often.

Just yesterday she laughed for the first time while playing with John.  We can't wait for more of those giggles.

Everyone always is obsessed with asking how babies sleep, and Orelia is getting better and better at it (though still not some sort of sleep goddess or anything).  We've had a couple nights of 7 hour sleeps, and most nights we get at least one or two 4-5 hour periods.  She's moving in the right direction and we are happy about it.

I took more photos in the same chair with the same stuffed animal as last month, but they always come out kind of goofy looking.

She's definitely getting bigger though - longer and a little heavier.

She has rolled on her side a few times, and didn't much like it there.  She hasn't had the gusto to complete the roll, which doesn't bother me in the least.

She loves her mobile and swing, but probably her favorite place to play is her play gym.  She adores just laying there, looking at the exciting things, and reaching and banging into the fun objects there.

It's amazing how much easier it was this month to prop her up in the chair.

She holds her head up really well, which makes our lives overall a hell of a lot easier.

With her new found neck strength though, she also loves to scoot, so if she's propped up in your lap or on a chair, she will scoot her way out of that position before you know it.

She brings us more joy than we ever could of imagined and it's so fun to see her develop every day.
