We went in yesterday for Orelia's two month checkup, though we were over a week early for her actual two-month birthday (our pediatrician is going on sabbatical, so we had to catch him when we could).
The good news is that our girl is doing great. The doctor said, "I couldn't be more pleased." She now weighs 10 pounds 12 oz. (50th percentile), has a head circumference of 39.5 cm (75th percentile), and is 23.25 inches long (90th percentile). How did we end up with such a tall girl? According to the doctor, she's been roughly at these percentiles since her birth. I guess we won't be able to embarrass her in front of her prom date by telling him that she was a chunkster. Our doctor also said that in his opinion tummy time is overrated and we don't need to force it on her for 15 minutes a day (good thing, because we haven't been) like the books say.
The bad news about the two month appointment is that O got stuck with a couple of needles and neither she nor her mama were all too pleased about it. We both survived, however, and one of us is currently on grape-flavored Tylenol to help with her post-vaccination fussiness.
We celebrated a successful doctor's visit with a trip to the outdoor mall where we could walk in the shade (and occasional air conditioning) to beat the 90 degree heat. We only bought one book and one outfit, so I really restrained myself!
What a tall little girl!
